Energizing Wheatgrass Tea

This recipe is uplifting and will give you the ultimate boost! It is my favorite warm drink first thing in the morning and/or evening. I used a chai blend this morning, but you should feel free to try it with a multitude of flavors. I like to mix it up and experiment with different aromas. An orange flavor also compliments very nicely.

Warm tea provides an underlying sense of presence. It has boundless positive effects on your mind and body. Learn more about the nerdy info and the loads of benefits of sipping tea below.

NOURISHMENT:

Wheat Grass! I have learned a lot about this plant that heals while teaching yoga at Black Swan Yoga Houston. The studio’s local gardener, Greg Campbell, has blown me away with all of his knowledge about this amazing elixir.  Wheat grass is the ultimate energizer, antibiotic, body cleanser, and body builder. Drinking wheatgrass will only bring about the positive!

What is up Chlorophyll? It is the plant pigment in all plants responsible for the absorption of light in photosynthesis. As a reminder, the process of photosynthesis creates energy. Chlorophyll is a super food that contains abundant antioxidants that has anti-cancer effects.

While growing in Texas, it seemed that warm tea was underrated, mainly due to living in the extreme heat. When I moved to Vermont, during the winter months I became a tea addict. I was instantly hooked, not only because it kept me warm, but also because of the realization of how a simple cup of warm tea could have a profound impact on your body and mind.

INSPIRATION:

Today’s recipe inspiration comes from the book, Raw Food Life Force Energy, by Natalia Rose. I discovered this book when I did my first yoga teacher training course in Brooklyn with Deborah Hanekamp. Since then I have been glued to this concoction.  Enjoy!
